Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here another very quick and easy crochet project:
For this I used a cotton/linen/silk blend yarn, and a 4.5 mm crochet hook. I'll post a review of this yarn later, but it has a bit of a rougher structure that was just perfect for the kitchen cloth I had in mind.
The pattern is very easy:
- 52 chains
- start the first row on the second chain from hook and work on the linen stitch until the end of the row (1 single crochet, chain 1, skip 1 stitch, repeat until the end of the row); total of 50 stitches (including the chains)
- on the next row, chain 3 and then start your first single crochet over the first chain space from the previous row. Repeat until the end of the row.
- Repeat these rows until the end of your skein or until you've reached the desired height
It's totally optional, but I still had a bit of yarn leftover at the end, although not enough to complete an additional round, so I added a small hanging loop (basically: 10 chains, the last chain slip stitched to the first one to create the loop, and then the loop covered with single crochets).
Overall this is a fun and useful project and makes for a lovely handmade gift too.
And I definitely love the way this fits in the rustic house it's going to be used in (not exactly a farmhouse, but close):
Have fun, and happy Wednesday,
