Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a quick and easy way to make a cute reusable gift bag:
Start with a long rectangle of felt that folded in half will get you more or less the size of the bag you need. Fold and sew down the sides (or use fabric glue, for a no sew option).
Alternatively, you can also cut two rectangles and sew both the sides and the bottom.
Mark and punch holes on both sides at the top of the bag, when you want the handles to be:
For this I used a set of pre-cut felt flowers I had around:
Because I wanted to have flowers partially covering the holes I punched for the handles, I used a large eyed needle to thread the ribbon through the holes and the flowers, and then tied knots on the inside of the bag, to keep the handles in place:
And finally I glued the rest of the flowers in place, adding a couple of stitches in each flower center in matching embroidery floss:
And here's the end result, front and back:
And just like that I now have a pretty gift bag, perfect for spring birthday gifts. The plus? Every single item used to make this bag cam from my stash, so it was a pretty inexpensive project too...
Have fun, and happy Tuesday,
