Green beans with smoked ham and pine nuts {recipe}

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here one our favorite side dishes, that is very easy and quick to make:


Green beans with smoked ham and pine nuts {recipe}


Ingredients (four to six servings):
  • 250 grams of green beans, cut into thin slices
  • 1 cup of smoked ham (or bacon) cut into small cubes
  • 1 medium sized onion, diced
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of pine nuts
  • 1 - 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: 

Boil the green beans for approximately 10 minutes.

In a separate pan, place the ham, the onion and the olive oil. Cook for a few minutes until the onion browns a bit.

Then add the green beans (drained) and the pine nuts to the pan and mix everything together.

Season with the salt, pepper and garlic powder, mix again, and then cover the pan and let everything cook for another 10 minutes. Serve while still warm, or let it cool down and store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
