Sometimes destashing means not only using up existing craft supplies but also completing projects that were left half finished (and have been in that stage for a while).
Such was the case with this little crochet pillow.
I found the photos from when I started crocheting this pillow in my cell phone - they were from January 2024, so a little over a year ago. The yarn is the Baby Snuggle from Hobbii (in Aquamarine) and I started the pillow as a request from my son, who wanted it to use in his desk chair.
After a year, it was more than than time to just finish the pillow once and for all and get it out of the way.
It's a small pillow, just 40 stitches wide, and all done in the linen stitch. If you need a tutorial for this stitch, I like this one (not mine, though).
I crocheted until I had a rectangle long enough to fold in two and get the pillow size I wanted. Once folded, I joined the three open edges with a slip stitch:
The pillow filling was store bought and I just adjusted it to the size I needed:
Overall, I really liked closing the pillow with a slip stitch instead of just sewing the pieces together, as it creates such a neat edging:
And here's the finished pillow (finally):
I didn't use all the yarn on this pillow, and since I'm trying to follow a no-leftovers policy, I may crochet another of these soon (I love this yarn for pillows, it's so soft).
Have fun, and happy Tuesday!
