Hello! Welcome and happy new year!
To kick off our 2021 crafts, here's a quick tutorial to make cute crochet bows.
They are very quick to make and you can use them in lots of different ways.
They can be added to clothes, made into brooches or hair clips, used to embellish blankets and throws and look great over wrapped gifts.
They are also a perfect way to get rid of all those yarn scraps we all have around.
All you really need is a crocheted rectangle and some additional yarn to tie around the bow.
For this pale green bow I chained 16 and then added 15 rows of single crochets (with 15 stitches each):
Then I folded the rectangle in half and joined the two larger sides with more single crochets:
Once you cut the yarn and weave in the ends, it should look like this (folded so that the "seam" is centered):
And finally wrap more yarn around (you can use the same yarn you used to crochet the main piece or a contrasting color):
Here's how it looks in the back:
If you make your crocheted piece less wide and but a bit longer, you will be left with a slightly more fluffier bow:
The white bow was made chaining 13 and then adding rows of 12 singe crochets (instead of the 15 for the green bow):
(and also a total of 18 rows instead of 15)
Adjust the number of stitches and rows to the size you want your bow to have, and make lots of these!
Have a wonderful week!
Your bows are darling! Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ's.
