10-minutes fall mini-pillow DIY

Hello and welcome! The week is almost over but today I'm sharing something I actually made last weekend: a fall mini pillow.

I rarely change my decor according to the seasons (except for Christmas). Time is limited and it seems that whenever I manage to finish something, the corresponding season is almost over anyway...but this pillow actually came to be as a request from my son - and those I cannot refuse!

My son still has a host of stuffed animals in his room and decided he wanted them to have some fall decor of their own. And what better than a soft and fluffy pillow?

Fabric and size were chosen by him, I just did the cutting and sewing.

But, really, this is such a quick craft that I had to share it here. I takes less than 10 minutes to get one of these pillows done, and it's a great way to decorate for the season with something useful and that will not turn into more clutter once you change the decor again.

All you need to do is decide the size you want for your pillow. Cut fabric (don't forget the seam allowances) and sew all around, leaving a small opening to turn inside out.

I used a piece of fabric folded in half so I had one less seam to sew...But if you don't fold, you can even use two different fabrics, one for each side, and have a sort of reversible pillow.

After turning inside out and pushing put the corners, fill with polyester filling, hand sew to close the opening and that's it!

  1. Oh ny. I just love this little pillow. Because of it's size it can go anywhere. In fact i think I'll be able to make some for my little grands too. I'd love to have you share this little gem at Everything Fall 2020 party which will be open through October. Best wishes for Fall to you and your family. Linda @crafts a La mode

    1. Thank you Linda! I'm making some more of these pillows too. First because now that her brother has one, my daughter wants one too. And second because they are really cute!
