A fox cake for fall

A few months after the summer emoji cake, here is the fall fox cake!

A fox cake for fall

It was made for my daughter's birthday so not quite fall yet then, but it's just perfect for this season.

The idea came from this cake I found on Pinterest, but as somehow they mention a template and I never could see one on their page, I free handed the fox shapes  (except for the nose and eyes - I used cookie cutters for those).

Everything is made of fondant, and the ears I actually had to make the day before to make sure they hardened enough to stay in place. I made them with a double layer of fondant and a wooden stick (the kind you can buy at the craft store) in between.

Then once the rest of the cake was decorated, I just had to stick the ears in place.

I have one more cake to share with you - an owl cake (my son's choice) - but I still need to sort of the photos of that one before posting.

Happy Wednesday!
