Hello, and welcome to another week! Today I'm going to show you how to make a cute baby blanket.
I made this last weekend for a new baby boy cousin and even with having to sew bias tape all around, I still managed to finish it very quickly.
I wanted a fairly light blanket, so I made it with flannel.
I started with a rectangle of flannel of approximately 235 x 80 cm (for a finished blanket of 116 x 73 cm).
Because I was pressed for time I did not that photos of all steps. but first I folded the flannel in half, right sides together, and sewed the three open sides (the fourth one was a fold), leaving a small opening.
I turned the blanket inside out through the opening and pressed the seams flat.
Then I placed bias tape all around. For added effect I used yellow bias tape on two sides and matching blue bias tape on the other two. Sewing the bias tape on is always my least favorite task...
And, as quickly as that, the blanket was finished!
Here is is, folded and packed, ready to be sent to its new owner:
Happy Monday!
Sweet little gift! I don't sew as well as I crochet, but I do love crocheting for new babies. So fun, and a useful, treasured gift.

You can always make one of these with a crochet border, it would look great too.
