I created this mini happy birthday banner for my husband's birthday last week. As his birthday fell on a weekday I already knew beforehand I wasn't going to have time to decorate a cake. And it was just the four of us anyway, so no point in doing anything too fancy.
Instead, I made my strawberry layered cake, skipped any complicated cake decor and just added the happy birthday cake banner.

Cut each of the banner pieces and gather the rest of the materials you'll need: bits of yarn, paper glue and two wooden sticks (barbecue sticks are great for this).
Fold each banner piece in two and glue it with the yarn in between. Because I was making a small cake I decided to place the two words into separate lines. For larger cakes you just can add all the letters in a row.
The final step is to tie the edges of the yarn to the wooden sticks and you're done.
Now you just need a cake and a birthday to celebrate (sorry about the quality of the pictures but it was dark already by the time I finished getting the cake ready).
Use this printable in any way you want, but if you re-post or share on social media, please leave a link back to this page!
Happy Monday!
