Hello, and welcome. The week is almost over - actually, the month is almost over - and I've finally decided show you the changes I made to our guest room last month.
I rarely write home decor posts - mostly because I rarely find the time to actually, truly decorate. And in that line of thought, our guest room lived like this for the past ten years:
I rarely write home decor posts - mostly because I rarely find the time to actually, truly decorate. And in that line of thought, our guest room lived like this for the past ten years:
The white pillows with the light green embroidered flowers were store bought and match the current curtains. The darken green pillows were sewn by me, originally yo match this framed embroidery work (made by my maternal grandmother way before I was born):
The green fabric, however, was faded and full of yellowish spots, so in desperate need of renovation (not to mention that I was kind of tired of seeing it there too).
I bought some new fabric with a color scheme and a pattern that could fit with the rest of the decor, and proceeded to sew new pillows. This is what I ended up with:
The new pillows still match with the rest, but because they are lighter, they brighten the space a bit too.
And because I had extra fabric, I also created a runner for the side table and recovered the two lampshades in the room:
And after all this work...my husband decided we need new pillows in our living room couch, so you can guess what my next project will be.
Happy Thursday,
I love your new pillows! And the joy of making things yourself, too! looking forward to see your next project :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. Hopefully it won't take too long. I already bought the new fabrics, I just need to find a bit of time with my sewing machine...
DeleteYou've chosen the perfect fabric. Looks much better now indeed!
