Following up on my mail goal for 2018 (which is destashing - you can read about it here), today I'm back here to show you my first destashing project of the year: a small crochet blanket totally made with yarn scraps. Which, just like the mini lap blanket I made last year, has already been claimed by my daughter. Apparently she has lots of dolls in need of warm winter blankets...
The blanket is crocheted in a simple wavy pattern, very similar to the one of the mini lap blanket, but with five stitches in each half of the wave instead of four.
Initially I thought about making the colors alternate in a symmetrical way, but in the end I decided against it and included more red rows. And as a finishing touch I added a row of single crochet all around.
It's obviously not perfect because the yarn scraps were all of different quality, but it apparently serves well it's purpose and it still was a great way to get rid of bits of yarn which lived in my crafts closet for a long time.
Congrats! Guess we all want to destash every once in a while, but... Sigh... Glad you've started of well!
ReplyDeleteDestashing is hard, but in my case it's a must because my crafts closet is a disaster...Thank you for stopping by!
