This year we had an overload of pears in our house, both from my grandfather's garden and my in-laws' pear tree, so I had to come up with strategies to use all those fruits.
Here are some of the pears we brought home a couple of weeks ago:
Ingredients
- a sheet of round puff pastry
- thinly sliced pears
- powdered cinnamon
- Cover a greased pie mold with the puff pastry and distribute the sliced pears on top
- Sprinkle with powdered cinnamon
- Bake for about 15 minutes until the pears turn a nice golden color and the puff pastry is cooked
Could it be any easier?

DeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteThis recipe brings back so many memories of my childhood. My Mother made pear pie during the Fall when our pear tree was full of delicious fresh pears and we loved it. She still makes it unfortunately due to my food allergies I can't eat it. The funny every time throughout all these years I have talked about pear pie no one seemed to have eaten it or heard about it. Congratulations on being featured on Healthy, Happy & Green & Natural blog hop. Have a healthy, happy & blessed day. Pinned and tweeted.
Thank you Marla! I never had food allergies before but after turning 40 I suddenly found I can't seem to eat dairy, sugar and a lot of other things, so I've slowly been adjusting my meals. But it's hard, especially when you have to eat out.
DeleteCinnamon and pears.. what a lovely combo Teresa! Made some apple pie recently but I think I'll follow your tips and try pears next time :)!
