Upcycled: plain mail package to cute gift package

This is rapidly becoming the week of paper crafts around our house and while I'm still working on a couple of projects I decided to share my latest upcycle: an embellished gift package.

A couple of weeks ago I received the package below at the office (sorry for the blurred section, it's just covering the sender information for privacy issues).

It came from a lawyers office with some original documents but once the documents were securely filed away I could not bring myself to put the package in the waste basket, deciding it was perfect to use for one of my homemade gifts.

So I stored it for a couple of days below my desk and on Friday I brought it home. After some brainstorming, I decided to use my Sizzix to cut a series of flower shapes from two different colors of plain wrapping paper and glue them onto the package in a way that covered both the sender information and the place where I took out the tag with the recipient's address (and which had left the surface of the package with some imperfections).

As a finishing touch, I also added a little pink flower to the closure thread.

And now I have a very cute package waiting for a very a cute gift at zero cost, which just shows again how a little inspiration can lead up to something wonderful.

Enjoy,
