DYI Felt Coffee Coasters

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing a very quick - but cute - project which makes a wonderful gift for coffee lovers.

DYI Felt Coffee Coasters

To make these coasters I used five different shades of brown felt, but of course you can use whatever colors you prefer - or have on hand.

The base of the coasters is made of two 10x10 cm squares. Do you need two? Well, that depends on the felt you are using. My felt was fairly thin, and besides I like the two toned look of the base.

With the two colors, the effect is kind of nice when you stack the coasters:

The two squares are glued to each other, with the coffee letters then glued on top as well.

I used my Sizzix dies to cut the letters, but you can always print some letters and use them as a pattern.

And that was it. The whole set took me less than twenty minutes to make, and a significant part of that time was spend deciding the exact placement of the letters.

As this idea worked so well, I'm thinking of replicating it with other colors and words. So I definitely see more of these coasters in my future...

Have a wonderful week!

  2. Adorable! I don't have a Sizzix, but I have a Cricut. Does the felt leave residue on the mat? (assuming sizzix uses a mat) If so (on both), how do you get the felt leftovers off without ruining the stickiness of the mat?

    1. Hi Kaycee! Your Cricut mat is washable. I've also heard of some people putting clear contact paper (sticky side up) on the mat and then putting the felt on that. Hope that helps!
