I made it to Monday...stuck at home

Hello, and welcome. It's Monday again and we are off to a new week. This will be our second week stuck at home (though last week we came home in stages - I was sent to work from home on Tuesday, my husband on Wednesday, and the kids ended school on Thursday afternoon).

Being at home means more time to craft - but it also means I need to keep the kids entertained and make sure we have everything we need in case we have to hibernate for a longer period of time.

On a side note, I closed my Etsy shop temporarily. We are all being advised to stay at home and only go out when it's absolutely necessary, so post office runs are out of the question, not to mention that some post offices are planning to close as well. I’m not sure I could ship orders even if I wanted to go to the post office. Which right now I don’t. Waiting for over one hour today to be able to enter the grocery store to get food for my family was enough already, thank you very much.

Here’s a sneak peek at what I’ve been doing otherwise:

I finished the blue felt flowers (read my post about making colourful flowers from felt scraps) . They are packaged and ready to be added to the shop once I’m able to open for business again.

My kids helped me to cut the green flowers too. These still need to be glued together, and then will also wait for the shop to open...

Because all we see in the news now is covid-19 related in some way, my daughter decided she needed to set up a campaign hospital to take care of her dolls and stuffed animals. And what do you need in those circumstances? Colorful band-aids, according to her. So I brought more felt scraps out of my crafts closet and made felt band-aids. Tutorial and pattern to come later this week.

And because this is the perfect opportunity to reduce my unfinished projects list, I finally completed this donut pillow for my daughter’s room. I don’t even remember when I started it, but it was surely around a year ago. At the time I remember drafting a pattern so I’m going to search for it in my older files to share here as well.
