How to Have a Brunch Wedding + Printables

With spring wedding season right around the corner, I wanted to highlight here a growing wedding trend: brunch.

You might be asking why someone would throw a brunch wedding as opposed to a traditional evening celebration. Delicious breakfast-themed menu offerings, lower costs, and delicate daytime details are just a few of the reasons why many couples are opting for an early start time.

Actually, when I got married (a whole almost 16 years ago), I insisted in having a morning wedding ceremony followed by lunch - it wasn't the norm then and a few guests were surprised by our choice, but I loved it - and still do.  Mine was the best wedding I attended - though I might be a bit biased there...

But now times are changing and what was an original choice years ago seems to be becoming the trend. And if this is something you're interested in, these brunch wedding printables will give you a head start when planning your daytime celebration (or party!)

So what time should your brunch wedding start? Typically, your ceremony should begin no earlier than 10 a.m. and the reception should wrap by 3 p.m. But in reality, you make the rules!

Here are some other things to consider when planning your brunch wedding:

  • Your day is going to start early! There’s just no way around this for the bride, groom, and wedding party. Save yourself time and energy in the morning by setting up everything you can the night before. If your venue allows it, hang your decorations at your rehearsal (except for florals, which you’ll want delivered fresh in the morning).

  • You’ll save costs by having a brunch wedding. Food, drink, and venue rentals all come with a lower price tag in the daylight. A mimosa or bloody mary bar will be considerably cheaper than an open bar and your menu offerings can be as much as $100 cheaper per plate compared to an elevated dinner menu of filet mignon or lobster.

  • You’ll have more time to spend with friends and family (if you choose to do so). Since your reception will wrap by 3 p.m., there’s plenty of time to host an after party or celebration at the wedding hotel. Consider setting up a happy hour by the pool or another event where guests can continue to mingle. If you and your spouse do decide to head to your honeymoon early, list activity options for guests on your wedding website so they can fill their day.

Use these brunch wedding printables to decorate your day in style! You’ll find wedding signs, “we love you a brunch” favor tags, bubble bottle labels (which you’ll want to print on sticker paper), and more. All you have to do is print them out and display them on your special day!

  1. I love all the non-traditional fun ways couples can do a wedding today and save tons of money. People are getting married in their backyards then pulling out the grill for a barbecue. I'm not a fan of the traditional wedding/reception. A brunch wedding sounds like a fabulous idea. I love your idea of following it up with an after party.
