Small Summer Bag (upcycled jeans part 2)

Hello and welcome! Today I'm sharing the second of the sewing projects I created using a pair of old jeans (check out the snap pouch I posted last week).

This time I didn't exactly created a tutorial, but the basic construction of the bag follows my 20-minutes lined tote bag

From the rest of the jeans (leftover after the snap pouch), I cut a series of squares and rectangles, and then mixed in a few squares of a summer/beach inspired fabric.

I joined the squares to create the two front panels of the bag and then added a large rectangle in between them (the bottom of the bag) and two thinner strips at each of the top edges:

Below you can see the exterior of the bag (with the sides already sewn) and the straps I created using both fabrics:
