Bear Face Crochet Scrubbies - tutorial and free pattern

After the success of the crochet cat face scrubbies, I decided to create bear face scrubbies too. These are a great, eco-friendly gift idea and the bear shape makes them extra-cute!

 

The pattern is easy and beginner friendly. Below you have the written instructions, but I've also created a video tutorial to make it even easier to follow the pattern.

To create these scrubbies I used cotton yarn and a 2.5 mm hook. Each scrubbie has an approximate diameter of 6 cm.

Here's the pattern:

 

Row 1 (12 stitches on a magic ring): on a magic ring, chain 3 (counts as a stitch) and then add 11 double crochets into the ring (12 stitches in total). Join with a slip stitch. 

 

Row 2 (24 stitches all-around): chain 3 (counts as a stitch). Add one double crochet in the same space and two double crochets over each stitch from the previous row (24 stitches in total). 

 

Row 3 (36 stitches all-around): Add two double crochets in the next space and one double crochet in the following one. Alternate two double crochets on the same space with one double crochet in the following space until the end of the row (36 stitches in total).

 

First Ear: add 6 treble crochets over the next stitch from previous row, and then a slip stitch on the following stitch. Cut the yarn before moving to the other ear.

 

Second Ear: leave a distance of four stitches from the other year. Insert the hook on the 5th stitch to the left of the first ear. Then repeat the same sequence you used for the first ear: 6 treble crochets over the next stitch from previous row and a slip stitch on the immediately following stitch.

Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Repeat as many times as you want to create a cute bear face scrubbies set!
