Textured Crochet Face Scrubbies - tutorial and free pattern

These textured crochet face scrubbies are a great, eco-friendly gift idea!

The pattern is easy and beginner friendly. Below you have the written instructions, but I've also created a video tutorial to make it even easier to follow the pattern.

To create these scrubbies I used cotton yarn and a 2.5mm hook. Each scrubbie has an approximate diameter of 8 cm (3.1 inches).

Here's the pattern:

Row 1: on a magic ring, chain 3 (counts as a stitch) and then add 11 more double crochets into the ring (12 stitches in total). Join with a slip stitch. 

Row 2: chain 3 (counts as a stitch) and add one front post double crochet over the post of the same stitch from previous row. Until the end of the row, add one regular double crochet and one front post double crochet over the same stitch from previous row. Join with a slip stitch (24 stitches in total).

Row 3: chain 3 (counts as a stitch), one double crochet in the next stitch and one double crochet + one front post double crochet in the following one. Until the end of the row, alternate one regular double crochet and one regular double crochet + one front post double crochet over the same stitch from previous row. Join with a slip stitch (36 stitches in total). Make sure your front post double crochets are lined up from one row to another.

Row 4: chain 3 (counts as a stitch), one double crochet over the next two stitches and one double crochet + one front post double crochet in the following one. Until the end of the row, alternate two regular double crochets over the next two stitches and one regular double crochet + one front post double crochet over the following stitch from previous row. Join with a slip stitch (48 stitches in total). Don't forget to make sure your front post double crochets are lined up from one row to another.

Row 5: chain 3 (counts as a stitch), one double crochet over the next three stitches and one double crochet + one front post double crochet in the following one. Until the end of the row, alternate three regular double crochets over the next three stitches and one regular double crochet + one front post double crochet over the following stitch from previous row. Join with a slip stitch (60 stitches in total). Don't forget to make sure your front post double crochets are lined up from one row to another.

Cut the yarn, weave in ends and your scrubbie is finished. Repeat as many times as you want to create a wonderful textured reusable face scrubbies set!
