Simple Flat Circle Coasters - tutorial and free pattern
These flat circle coasters are the perfect crochet project for beginners! They are very easy to make and if you use recycled cotton cord like I did you get an even more original set, with a certain rustic look (and eco-friendly too).
So even if crochet is not something you excel at, you can for sure make these, either for yourself or to give as a gift.
To create these coasters use thick cotton yarn or recycled cotton cord and a size K/6.5mm hook.
Here's the pattern:
Row 1: on a magic ring, chain 3 (counts as a stitch) and then add 11 double crochets into the ring (12 stitches in total). Join with a slip stitch.
Row 2: chain 3 (counts as a stitch). Add one double crochet in the same space and two double crochets over each stitch from the previous row (24 stitches in total).
Row 3: chain 3 (counts as a stitch). Add two double crochets in the next space and one double crochet in the following one. Alternate two double crochets on the same space with one double crochet in the following space until the end of the row (36 stitches in total).
Cut the yarn and weave in ends and your coaster is finished!
Repeat as many times as you want to create a wonderful coasters set!
And if you prefer, you can also follow the video tutorial:
Have fun, and happy crocheting!
