DIY doll house play food: felt berry pies

Hello, and welcome to my latest doll house food creation: felt berry pies. Because, of course, everyone loves a good pie come fall - including dolls!

They are sooo easy to make! Find out how below:

What you need:

  • Two larger circles of light brown felt (about 4 cm in diameter) for the crust. In one of them you will need to cut part of the interior to create a ring as shown below (the width of the ring should be more or less 0.5 cm)
  • One smaller dark red circle of felt for the filling (sized to fit within the ring you created above)
  • 6 thin strips of light brown felt (not pictured below), long enough to cover the diameter of the pie (start with a width of at least 1 cm because you'll trim them a bit later)
  • Fabric glue

Instructions:

First glue the circles of felt as show below (ring over base crust and filling in the middle):

Now trim the strips of felt with pinking shears and interlace them over the top of the pie:

Glue the edges and cut off excess felt, and your little pie is ready to be served!

Now make more! You can vary the color of your "filling" to represent different pies.
