I usually don't post on Saturdays here on the blog, but it seemed fitting to have the last edition of the ABC Crafts Series on the last day of the year. Yes, z is for zipper, and it you think zippers can only be used to close bags and coats, you are so wrong...

5 DIY toys you can easily make for Christmas
The ABC Crafts Series...T is for Toys!
Even though my kids get a lot of store bought gifts, I always like to make them something special for Christmas and birthdays. So, for this week's ABC crafts series I want to share with you some lovely ideas for homemade toys you still have plenty of time to make before Christmas.
I picked several alternatives for different age ranges. Some of them may be easier to make than others, but in any case all come with detailed instructions and, when applicable, free patterns. Enjoy!

5 lovely button projects
The ABC Crafts Series...B is for Button!
Are wondering why this edition of the ABC Crafts series is totally out of alphabetical order? Well, as it happens, today is International Button Day, so it actually makes total sense. Who knew there was even a button day? I didn't, not until I started researching to write this post a couple of months ago. So I decided to wait for the right date before publishing it.
There are many, many amazing things you can make with buttons, and a quick search on Google or Pinterest will provide you with an endless supply of ideas. I chose five of my favorite. Check them out below!

5 cute & easy DIY Halloween costumes
The ABC Crafts Series...H is for Halloween!
Yep, Halloween is almost here. Are you ready? Well, I am. Sort of. We don't really decorate for Halloween, as it is not a traditional Portuguese holiday, but the kids always have a Halloween party at school and they are getting more and more excited about it with each passing year.
This year I still plan to make a new bat costume for my son (let's see if I have time to share it on the blog before the actual day) but in the meantime I leave you with some additional inspiration!
This special edition of the ABC Crafts Series is entirely dedicated to homemade Halloween costumes. As usual, all come with instructions so you can easily replicate them. Check them out below!

5 amazing quilts for beginners
The ABC Crafts Series...Q is for Quilt!
Welcome
to another edition of the ABC Crafts Series. After a small summer break, we're back on trail with quilts for Q.
Quilting is something I've always wanted to dedicate myself to and never really found time. Yet. While researching materials for this post, though, I realized that quilts do not have to be big and complicated to qualify.
In fact, there are some pretty awesome projects that would not take forever to complete and that seem simple enough for a beginner like me. Actually, one of them is not even a quilt, though it follows the same sewing techniques and seems like a great way to start.
On the plus side, they all come with detailed instructions on how to get there, which is always a great help. Check them out below!
