happy birthday mini banner/cake banner (free printable)

I created this mini happy birthday banner for my husband's birthday last week. As his birthday fell on a weekday I already knew beforehand I wasn't going to have time to decorate a cake. And it was just the four of us anyway, so no point in doing anything too fancy.

Instead, I made my strawberry layered cake, skipped any complicated cake decor and just added the happy birthday cake banner.

Kid-friendly kitchen safety checklist (free printable)

While it may require patience and a little extra clean-up (ok, often it's really a lot of clean-up), getting kids involved in the kitchen is a great opportunity to teach them valuable skills and spend time together. It may be hard to take time out of the busy day or weekend, but it’s well worth the effort. For me it's a great way to get my kids disconnected from the TV, electronic games, cell phones and the lot, and to engage them in something they can actually make and eat. It's good now, and hopefully it will be useful for them in the future, when they grow up and become independent.

This family kitchen time is also the perfect opportunity to teach kids basic hygiene and safety rules, and that's why Kitchen Cabinet Kings prepared a useful and fun kitchen safety checklist.

Fun Money Games for Kids (free printables)

Saving money is one of the top ten of the most common New Years' resolutions. I've been looking through several surveys and apparently this seems to be a goal for about 30% to 40% of adults living in Europe and North America. And it's a great goal. I want to find ways to spend less too, to be more efficient while grocery shopping and to ramp up my reuse and upcycle efforts. But what about teaching our kids about money management too?

Fun Money Games for Kids (free printables)

That many people this new year are resolving to be better with money makes total sense because it can be difficult to learn to budget and manage your own finances. But that's exactly why it’s important to keep in mind the benefits of giving your children a strong start with basic money managing skills - which is now made easier with some fun printable money games.

Get into the Festive Mood with These Free Printables

Holiday season is the perfect time for crafting. There are many great crafting ideas out there, but often they take too much time, effort and money. And worse - they don't work out the way we expected them to.  However, making beautiful crafts doesn’t always have to be complex or time-consuming. Simple and easy crafts are just as perfect and this isn't the time of the year to add more stress to our lives. So when FreezerLabels.net showed me their Christmas printables, I knew I had to share them here!

I created these for the Christmas trees exhibition at my kids' school. They work well as ornaments, but make cute gift tags too.

Fall printable decor

If you´ve been visiting a while, you already know that my efforts to change our home decor with each passing season are minimal. Except for Christmas, and maybe Easter, I rarely make that much of an effort.

So this year, to celebrate fall, I just designed a piece of wall art that I could easily print and frame.

Explosion Box Designs

After reading the title, you might be asking - what exactly is an explosion box? I had the same question when I was approached by Shari’s Berries about these printables. But don't worry, it's not as scary as the name might sound.

These explosion boxes are lovely folded paper boxes that include pages with personalized details, such as photos, thoughtful notes, or unique decorations.

DIY dry erase to-do lists

If you're like me, you always have a long list of things to do every day. And while I have a good memory, I always find it easier to create a list every night with what needs to be done the following day.

Mostly I use notebooks for this, but lately I found myself sticking lots of reminders on our kitchen wall, next to the calendar and the kid's school schedules. I was clearly in need of a more efficient alternative - and so I created a dry erase to-do list.

Back to School Printable Name Tags

If you've been visiting for a while you already know that almost every year I design new printable name tags for my kids to use on they school books, notebooks and other school materials.

As my kids grow, the designs grow too and this time my son told me he didn't want his name tags with little kids images anymore - yes, because eleven is sooooo old... This is what I came up with:

Travel ID tags for kids - free printable

The first time I had to travel abroad with my kids, I admit I was a bit stressed. English is not their first language, and while they do have some basic knowledge, they are by no means proficient. To add to that, English wasn't the first language of the country we were traveling to, which could be and additional difficulty. And finally, I would have to spend at least two days alone with both kids in a strange town. Compounded stress.

My main concern was what would happen if they got lost in a crowd or if for any reason we were separated. Looking back at it now, maybe I was exaggerating, but at the time it seemed vitally important that they could have some sort of ID on them, with their parents phone numbers clearly stated.

12 Free Vintage Label Printables

When you’ve got a big family to feed or if you're just a fan of home cooked meals (home made is always best, in my opinion), you have to stay stocked up on cooking ingredients. But keeping everything organized in your pantry and fridge can be quite a chore.

12 Free Vintage Label Printables

So, you most likely have a whole bunch of food storage containers full of rice, flour, sugar, and other ingredients. All of these containers can start to get confusing if they’re not labeled. Have you ever used your baking soda instead of the corn starch? I know I have! Or have you spent a lot of time looking for that brown sugar package you know you bought on your last trip to the grocery store and now can't find anywhere? Yep, I've been there too...

If you’re a fan of staying organized and decluttering your kitchen, you need to check out these awesome vintage food label printables from Kitchen Cabinet Kings.

There are twelve different labels to choose from. Below are just a few of my favorites. Oh, and they also have a blank label so that you can properly label anything you like!

Blank labels, ready for you to customize them

I love the black and white look of these labels. It's clean and elegant and will look good on any kitchen counter or pantry.

If you want these labels too, head over to the original post and download them and print them out on your home printer. Then glue or tape them on their appropriate containers. Laminate the top if you want to make them more durable or if you really want them to turn out nice, print them on sticker paper (either at home or at your local print store).

Have fun with your new vintage food label printables and happy Thursday!

Let's Flamingle summer printable decor

Inspiration of this printable came from a birthday party me daughter attended a couple of months ago. There were flamingos everywhere and somehow it looked very summer-ish - even if that the time were were still in early spring. So I decided that as soon as summer started I would want a flamingo sign in our house, especially because summer is the birthday party season in our family!.
